Pristimantis (Hypodictyon) afrox Reyes-Puig, Yánez-Muñoz, Ortega, and Ron, 2020, Rev. Mexicana Biodiversidad, 91 (e913013): 9. Holotype: DHMECN 6578, by original designation. Type locality: "Tobar Donoso (1°10’59.76” N, 78°29’32.18” O, 243 m snm, . . .), parroquia Mira, Cantón Tulcán, provincia de Carchi, República del Ecuador".

Afrox’s Robber Frog (original publication). 


Known on the Pacific slope of Colombia in the departments of Valle del Cauca and Narino  and in the extreme north of Ecuador in the province of Esmeraldas, 40 to 600 m elevation. 


In the Pristimantis (Hypodictyon) rubicundus group according to the original publication.
