Type locality: "El Tambo (05° 21′ S, 79° 33′ W, 2770 m), 31 km (by road) ENE of Canchaque, Provincia Huancabamba, Departamento Piura, Peru".

Distribution

Known only from the region of the type locality in the Province of Huancabamba, Department of Piura, Peru, and into adjacent Ecuador.

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127.
