Pristimantis bellae Reyes-Puig and Yánez-Muñoz, 2012, Pap. Avulsos Zool., São Paulo, 52: 82. Holotype: DHMECN 04812, by original designation. Type locality: "Bosque Protector Bosque Cerro Candelaria (01° 27′ 5.9″ S, 78° 18′ 29.6″ W, 2.000 m), parroquia Río Verde, cantón Baños, provincia de Tungurahua, República del Ecuador".

Distribution
Eastern Tungurahua Province as well as adjacent areas of Pastaza and Napo Provinces, Ecuador, on the eastern versant of the Andes, 1800 to 2300 m elevation.

Comment
In the Pristimantis unistrigatus group according to the original publication. Not assignable to species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Reyes-Puig, Reyes-Puig, and Yánez-Muñoz, 2013, Avanc. Cienc. Ingen., Quito, Secc. B,, 5(2): B5-B13, discussed the range and stated that it is not assignable to species group although it is similar to Pristimantis galdi. Reyes-Puig, Reyes-Puig, Franco-Mena, Jost, and Yánez-Muñoz, 2022, ZooKeys, 1081: 57, provided a record from Machay Reserve, Tunguruhua Province, Ecuador, 2290 m elevation. Unassigned to species group by Mônico, Koch, Ferrão, Fernandes, Marques, Chaparro, Rodrigues, Lima, and Fouquet, 2024, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 108203: 1–19, due to a lack of molecular data.
