Distribution

known only from the type locality in the El Pailón sector, of the Golondrinas Protective Forest of the province of Carchi, Ecuador, between 2,483 to 2,605 m of elevation, in the Mira River Basin located on the slope of Cerro Golondrinas.

Comment

In the Pristimantis myersi species group and Pristimantis (Trachyphrynus) celator clade according to the original publication, where morphological and molecular markers were detailed and a dot map provided. Previously noted as Pristimantis sp. 5 by Franco-Mena, Guayasamin, Andrade-Brito, Yánez-Muñoz, and Rojas-Runjaic, 2023, PeerJ, 11 (e14715): 1–35.
