Eleutherodactylus capitonis Lynch, 1998, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 22: 126. Holotype: ICN 8124, by original designation. Type locality: "COLOMBIA, Departamento de Cauca, Municipio de El Tambo, Parque Natural Nacional Munchique, vicinity of cabaña 'La Romelia', 2610 m.s.n.m."

Distribution

Known from a few localities on the western slope of the Cordillera Occidental in the departments of Cauca and Valle del Cauca, Colombia, 2500–3212 m elevation.

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group by implication of the original publication, most closely related to Eleutherodactylus verecundus. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128.
