Eleutherodactylus chrysops Lynch and Ruiz-Carranza, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 358. Holotype: ICN 36900, by original designation. Type locality: "quebrada La Esperanza, ca 9 km S Queremal, Municipio de Dagua, Departamento Valle del Cauca, Colombia, 1960-2090 m".

Cloud forest on the western flank of the Cordillera Occidental in the departments of Valle del Cauca and Chocó, Colombia, 1960–2090 m elevation.
Comment
Most closely related to Eleutherodactylus cacao and Eleutherodactylus xylochobates according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) devillei species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 121. In the reformulated Pristimantis devillei species group of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 126.
