Pristimantis educatoris Ryan, Lips, and Giermakowski, 2010, J. Herpetol., 44: 194. Holotype: USNM 572336, by original designation. Type locality: "forest just below the Continental Divide on Atlantic slope; Parque Nacional G. D. Omar Torrijos H., Cocle´, Panama´ (8° 39.95′ N; 80° 35.55′ W; 709-m elevation; . . .), approximately 8 km north of El Cope´, Cocle´ Province, Panama".

Distribution
Santa Fé, Veraguas Province in central Panama eastward into Antioquia, Colombia, at elevations of 450–1450 m, with a disjunct population in extreme southeast Costa Rica near the Panama border on the Caribbean versant of Cerro Uatsi, Bratsi, Limón Province.

Comment
In the Pristimantis (Hypodictyon) ridens species group, most similar to, and previously confused with, Pristimantis caryophyllaceus according to the original publication. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent. Am.: 140–191, provided a key to the genera and species of Brachycephaloidea (= Craugastoridae, Eleutherodactylidae) in Central America and provided maps and photographs of the species, including this one. See comment under Pristimantis caryophyllaceus regarding the possible synonymy of this taxon under that nominal species.
