In the Eleutherodacytlus unistrigatus group (Eleutherodactylus diadematus series) according to the original publication. In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group of Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 224. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Lehr, Lundberg, Aguilar, and von May, 2006, Herpetol. Monogr., 20: 122, provided a record from the Department of Ucayali, Peru, at 230 m. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. See Duellman and Lehr, 2009, Terrest.-breeding Frogs in Peru: 176–177, for brief account. Included as part of the Brazilian fauna by Segalla, Berneck, Canedo, Caramaschi, Cruz, Garcia, Grant, Haddad, Lourenço, Mângia, Mott, Nascimento, Toledo, Werneck, and Langone, 2021, Herpetol. Brasil., 10: 144, although it is unclear that there are unambiguously identified vouchers for this taxon in Brazil. Moraes, Rainha, Werneck, Oliveira, Gascon, and Carvalho, 2022, Pap. Avulsos Zool., São Paulo, 62(e202262054): 23–24, discussed specimens from the Reserva Extrativista do Baixo Juruá, Amazonas, Brazil, provisionally identified as Pristimantis eurydactylus, but with the caution added that they could be Pristimantis cf. diadematus and as such require additional work.
