Mucubatrachus flabellidiscus La Marca, 2007 "2006", Herpetotropicos, Mérida, 3: 76. Holotype: ULABG2883, by original designation. Type locality: "Los Aranguren, 2860 m (aprox. 8° 35′ 59″ N, 70° 55′ 28″ W), vertiente sur del Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada, Municipio Rangel, Estado Mérida, Venezuela".
