Holotype: CPZ-UV 6121, by original designation. Type locality: "Reserva Natural Comunitaria Cerro El Inglés, municipality of El Cairo, 2112 m elevation (4°45′N, 76°17′W), Department of Valle del Cauca, Colombia".

Distribution
Known from three Colombian localities in a humid montane forest at elevations of 2112 to 2413 m in the Department of Valle del Cauca (western slopes of the Cordillera Occidental): (1) Reserva Natural Comunitaria Cerro El Inglées (municipality of El Cairo), (2) Quebrada el Indio, Vereda Monteloro (municipality of Trujillo), and (3) Regional Park Páramo del Duende (municipality of Riofrío).

Comment
External morphology and advertisement call discussed in the original publication, although unassigned to species group. Arriaga-Jaramillo, Cuellar-Valencia, García-Gómez, Ceballaos-Castro, Bolívar-García, Velásquez-Trujillo, Ortiz-Baez, and Ospina-Sarria, 2023, Stud. Neotrop. Fauna Environ., 58: 275–282, discussed the advertisement call.
