In the Pristimantis leptolophus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 123, although they suggested that it might not belong in this group. Retained in the Pristimantis leptolophus group by Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 126.
