Eleutherodactylus lichenoides Lynch and Rueda-Almonacid, 1997, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 21: 133. Holotype: ICN 37205, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia, Departamento de Caldas, Municipio de Pensilvania, Km 24 de la via Pensilvania - Arboleda, sitio 'Puerto Suarez', por la trocha que conduce a Florencia, Caladas, 2150 m.s.n.m. Approximately 5 25′ N 75 10′ W."

Distribution
Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (Florencia forest, Caldas Department, Colombia) on the eastern slope of the central Andes, 2000–2600 m elevation, along cascading streams in cloud forest.

Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus diaphonus group, most similar to Eleutherodactylus albericoi according to the original publication. Lynch, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombia: 231–234, provided an account and map. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128.
