In the Pristimantis lacrimosus species group according to the original publication, where comparative morphology, acoustics, and molecular markers were detailed. The authors also noted that records of Pristimantis cf mendax and Pristimantis lacrimosus from the vicinity of this species should be genetically confirmed for identification.
