Type locality: "COLOMBIA, Departamento de Valle del Cauca, Municipio El Cairo, vereda Las Amarillas, El Boquerón (límite con Depto. Choco), 19.6 km del cementario de El Cairo), 2130 m."

Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group by implication of the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 127. Placed in the new Pristimantis boulengeri species group by González-Durán, Targino, Rada, and Grant, 2017, Zootaxa, 4243: 42–74. Placed in the Pristimantis boulengeri group and compared with others in this group by Patiño-Ocampo, Duarte-Marín, and Rivera-Correa, 2022, Rev. Latinoam. Herpetol., 5: 60–90.
