Comment
Comparative external morphology, morphometrics, and molecular markers detailed in the original publication, where it was also noted that the species was previous confused with both Pristimantis imitatrix or Pristimantis carvalhoi. Included in the Pristimantis marmoratus clade of the Pristimantis unistrigatus group as delimited by Mônico, Koch, Ferrão, Fernandes, Marques, Chaparro, Rodrigues, Lima, and Fouquet, 2024, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 108203: 1–19, on molecular grounds (mtDNA and nuDNA genes) and questioned the distinctiveness from Pristimantis lirellus.
