Type locality: "Quebrada Agudelo, Parque Nacional Natural Los Orquídeas, Vereda Calles, Municipio Urrao, Departamento Antioquia, Colombia, 1410-1430 m".

Moderate elevations (500–2000 m) along the western flank of the Cordillera Occidental of Colombia from Paramillo (Antioquía) to northern Valle del Cauca, and on Cerro Murrucucú, Córdoba.

Savage, 2002, Amph. Rept. Costa Rica: 227, included this species in his Eleutherodactylus cerasinus series, Eleutherodactylus cerasinus group.
