Distribution

Between 900 and 2400 m between Risaralda and Munchique in the Cordillera Occidental, and the western slope of the Cordillera Central in Quindío and Cauca, Colombia.

In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 230. See comment under Eleutherodactylus nigrogrisea. See account by Lynch, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 334–336. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 128. Bolívar-García, Giraldo, and Méndez-Narváez, 2011, Check List, 7: 9–10, provided a record for Cauca, Colombia, and the western slope of the Cordillera Central and discussed the range. Included in the Pristimantis unistrigatus clade of the Pristimantis unistrigatus group as delimited by Mônico, Koch, Ferrão, Fernandes, Marques, Chaparro, Rodrigues, Lima, and Fouquet, 2024, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 108203: 1–19, on molecular grounds (mtDNA and nuDNA genes).
