Eleutherodactylus piceus Lynch, Ruiz-Carranza, and Ardila-Robayo, 1996, Caldasia, 18: 337. Holotype: ICN 17174, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia: Departamento del Tolima, Municipio de Herveo, Km 235-236, carretera Mariquita-Manizales, region Páramo de Letras, 2790 m alt. (primary forest along roadside)".
