In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 230. See account by De la Riva, 1998 "1997", Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 11: 71–90. De la Riva, Köhler, Lötters, and Reichle, 2000, Rev. Esp. Herpetol., 14: 47, noted that this nominal species is likely composite. Köhler, 2000, Bonn. Zool. Monogr., 48: 122–124, provided a brief account. Padial, Gonzales-Álvarez, Reichle, Aguayo-Vedia, and De la Riva, 2004, Graellsia, 60: 170, provided a record for Departamento Beni, Bolivia. Lehr, Lundberg, Aguilar, and von May, 2006, Herpetol. Monogr., 20: 122–123, provided comments on identification, biology, and range. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 128. See Duellman and Lehr, 2009, Terrest.-breeding Frogs in Peru: 219–220, for brief account.
