Comment

In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) binotatus series, Eleutherodactylus ramagii group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 231. In the Ischnocnema ramagii species series of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 28. Carnaval and Bates, 2007, Evolution, 61: 2942–2957, discussed molecular phylogeography and suggested that multiple species are masquerading under this name. See comments under Pristimantis paulodutrai, with which this species has been confused. Canedo and Haddad, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 65: 610–620, suggested on the basis of molecular evidence that this species falls within the Pristimantis conspicillatus group and may represent a species complex. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus species group of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 125. Oitaven, Oliveira-Santos, Silva, Gambale, and Moura, 2017, Herpetol. Notes, 10: 197–203, reported on vocalizations. Juncá, 2006, Biota Neotrop., 6: 1–17, briefly summarized the presence of this species in the Serra da Jibóia region, Bahia, Brazil, and its habitat. Dubeux, Gonçalves, Ramos, Melo, Silva, and Mott, 2020, Herpetol. Notes, 13: 997–1002, provided a record for Pedra Talhada Biological Reseerve, Quebrangulo Municipality, Alagoas, Brazil, and commented on natural history and range. Reported from the Environmental Protection Area of Catolé and Fernão Velho, Alagoas, Brazil, by Dubeux, Nascimento, Gonçalves, and Mott, 2021, Pap. Avulsos Zool., São Paulo, 61 (e20216176): 1–10, who provided a key to the frogs of that region. Palmeira, Gonçalves, Dubeux, Lima, Lambertini, Valencia-Aguilar, Jenkinson, James, Toledo, and Mott, 2022, Cuad. Herpetol., 36: 65–75, reported on habitat in Natural Heritage Reserve Mata Estrela, Baía Formosa, Rio Grande do Norte state, Brazil. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus group, Pristimantis ramagii clade of Fouquet, Réjaud, Rodrigues, Ron, Chaparro, Osorno-Muñoz, Werneck, Hrbek, Lima, Camacho-Badani, Jaramillo-Martinez, and Chave, 2022, Syst. Biodiversity, 20(1: 2130464): 1–16, who reported on phylogenetics and biogeography.
