Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus (Eleutherodactylus) martinicensis series, Eleutherodactylus unistrigatus group according to Lynch and Duellman, 1997, Univ. Kansas Mus. Nat. Hist. Spec. Publ., 23: 232. La Marca, 1992, Cuad. Geograf., Mérida, 9: 42–43, commented on the distinctiveness of this taxon from Eleutherodactylus bicumulus and disputed the identification of the frogs reported as Eleutherodactylus rozei by Péfaur and Diaz de Pascual, 1982, in Salinas (ed.), Zool. Neotropical, 1: 237. Possibly conspecific with Eleutherodactylus reticulatus according to Lynch and La Marca, 1993, Caribb. J. Sci., 29: 133–146. Murphy, 1997, Amph. Rept. Trinidad Tobago: 82–83, provided an account for a taxon similar to this species from northern Tobago, which was subsequently named as Eleutherodactylus turpinorum. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) unistrigatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 128. Not assignable to a species group according to Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 128. See Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (1: e180): 125, for comments on range, literature, and systematics, and suggesting that a record from Nirgua Massif, Yaracuy, Venezuela, is based on Pristimantis cf. stenodiscus.
