Eleutherodactylus xylochobates Lynch and Ruiz-Carranza, 1996, Rev. Acad. Colomb. Cienc. Exact. Fis. Nat., 20: 359. Holotype: ICN 28962, by original designation. Type locality: "Boquerón, vereda Las Amarillas, Departamento del Valle, Colombia, 2200-2250 m".

Known only from two sites on the crest of the Serranía de los Paraguas at the border between departamentos Chocó and Valle del Cauca, Colombia, 75–182 m elevation.

Comment
Most closely related to Eleutherodactylus cacao and Eleutherodactylus chrysops according to the original publication. In the Pristimantis (Pristimantis) devillei species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 121. In the reformulated Pristimantis devillei species group of Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 126.
