Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in the municipios of Floridablanca and Tona, Santander, Colombia, 1750–1950 m elevation.

Comment
In the Eleutherodactylus conspicillatus group according to the original publication, similar to Eleutherodactylus douglasi (in the Eleutherodactylus galdi group), Eleutherodactylus carranguerorum, and Eleutherodactylus savagei. In the Pristimantis conspicillatus species group of Hedges, Duellman, and Heinicke, 2008, Zootaxa, 1737: 120. Removed from the Pristimantis conspicillatus species group and left unassigned to species group by Padial, Grant, and Frost, 2014, Zootaxa, 3825: 125.
