Currently known only from the Kanga Forest Reserve, Mwomero District, Morogoro Region, Tanzania.

Most similar to Callulina kreffti according to the original publication. Channing and Rödel, 2019, Field Guide Frogs & Other Amph. Afr.: 126–127, provided a brief account, photograph, and range map.
