Bufo kiphirensis Mathew and Sen, 2009, Rec. Zool. Surv. India, Occas. Pap., 293: 10. Holotype: ZSI-E 794, by original designation. Type locality: "Kiphire GA Rest House compound, Kiphire town, Kiphire district, Nagaland (N 25° 53′ 33.9″ E 94° 47′ 5.5″), Alt. 1190 m above msl".

English Names

Kiphire's Toad (Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 11).


Known only from the type locality (Kiphire, Nagaland, northeastern India).


Most similar to Duttaphrynus melanostictus and Duttaphrynus himalayanus (as Bufo) according to the original publication. Mathew and Sen, 2010, Pict. Guide Amph. NE India: 11-12, provided a brief characterization and photographs.  Das, Chetia, Dutta, and Sengupta, 2013, Zootaxa, 3646: 336–348, compared this species with other Duttaphrynus from northeastern India.
