Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Weh Island, Indonesia), off the north end of Sumatra.

Provisionally allocated to the Bufo stomaticus group by Dubois and Ohler, 1999, J. South Asian Nat. Hist., 4: 170. See identification table by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 26, to compare this species with others in the Sunda Shelf region.
