Osornophryne occidentalis Cisneros-Heredia and Gluesenkamp, 2011 "2010", Avanc. Cienc. Ingen., Quito, Secc. B,, 2 (3): 65. Holotype: DHMECN 3520, by original designation. Type locality: "near Guarumos, approximately 200 m from the Guarumos guard post on the Nono-Tandayapa road, 11 km WNW of the town of Nono (00° 02′ S, 78° 39′ W, 2550-2600m), provincia de Pichincha, República del Ecuador".

Distribution

Western slopes of the Cordillera Occidental of northwestern Ecuador in the provinces of Carchi, Imbabura, and Pichincha, between 2500 m and 2750 m; very likely to be found in adjacent Colombia.
