Northern and western Borneo in Brunei, Malaysia (Sarawak and Sabah), and Indonesia (Kalimantan).

Reviewed (as Micrixalus baluensis, and including Ingerana sariba) by Inger, 1966, Fieldiana, Zool., 52: 255-256. See Ingerana sariba. See brief account and photo by Manthey and Grossmann, 1997, Amph. Rept. Südostasiens: 92. Malkmus, Manthey, Vogel, Hoffmann, and Kosuch, 2002, Amph. Rept. Mount Kinabalu: 138-139, provided an account. See comments under Ceratobatrachidae and Ingerana in Dicroglossidae (Occidozyginae) for discussion of Ingerana polyphyly and uncertainty regarding the placement of species. Ingerana sariba probably also does not belong in Dicroglossidae (DRF). Das, Jankowski, Makmor, and Haas, 2007, Mitt. Hamburg. Zool. Mus. Inst., 104: 150, provided a brief description. Das, 2007, Amph. Rept. Brunei: 47, provided a photograph and brief account. Brown, Siler, Richards, Diesmos, and Cannatella, 2015, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 174: 142, transferred the species and near relatives to a new genus and subfamily in Ceratobatrachidae.
