Comment
See account by Zweifel, 1969, Am. Mus. Novit., 2374: 16–17. Kraus and Allison, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 364–368, provided the Bewani Mountain record. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 87, provided a brief account. Portik, Streicher, and Wiens, 2023, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 188 (107907): 25, placed this species phylogenetically, as Platymantis cheesmanae, within Cornufer, but without taking any taxonomic action and apparently without regard to the earlier paper by Brown, Siler, Richards, Diesmos, and Cannatella, 2015, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 174: 140, where the same conclusion had been reached.
