Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 92, provided a brief account. See Richards, Mack, and Austin, 2007, Zootaxa, 1639: 41–55, provided comparative call and morphological data and noted that the paratypes are unlikely conspecific with the holotype.
