Platymantis wuenscheorum Günther, 2006 "2005", Zool. Abh. Staatl. Mus. Tierkd. Dresden, 55: 86. Holotype: ZMB 67215, by original designation. Type locality: "on a ridge of the Amoman Mountain (about 9 km direct line east of the top of the Tamampi) near the road to the Ambaidiru Village, about 17 km direct line NE of Serui, 1° 45′ S and 136° 19′ E, altitude 1100 m above sea level, Yapen Island, Papua Province, Indonesia".

Comment

 Portik, Streicher, and Wiens, 2023, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 188 (107907): 25, placed this species phylogenetically, as Platymantis wuenscheorum, within Cornufer, but without taking any taxonomic action and apparently without regard to the earlier paper by Brown, Siler, Richards, Diesmos, and Cannatella, 2015, Zool. J. Linn. Soc., 174: 140, where the same conclusion had been reached.
