Giaretta and Cardoso, 1995, Rev. Brasil. Zool., 12: 233–237, reported on reproductive biology including the advertisement call. de Sá, Akopyan, Santana, Haddad, and Zamudio, 2024, Ecol. Evol., 14(e70262): 1–18, reported on morphological and genetic introgression with Cycloramphus boraceiensis along the contact zone.
