Cyclorhamphus distinctus Lutz, 1932, Mem. Oswaldo Cruz, Rio de Janeiro, 26: 71, 74. Syntypes: IOC, subsequently transferred to MNRJ and renumbered AL-MNRJ 2180–2182; AL-MNRJ 2180 designated lectotype by Heyer, 1983, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 30: 313. Type locality: "perto de Petropolis a cerca de 800 m de altitude" (p. 72) and "not far from Petropolis, at about 800 meters over sea level" (p. 75), Brazil.
