Moura, Alves, Souza e Sousa, Correa, and Nunes, 2019, Zootaxa, 4656: 397–400, described larval morphology. Larval morphology, anatomy, and phylogenetics reported on by Dias, Vera Candioti, Sabbag, Colaço, Silva, Haddad, Carvalho-e-Silva, and Grant, 2021, J. Zool. Syst. Evol. Res., 59: 1297–1321. Sabbag, Carvalho, Brasileiro, Consolmagno, and Haddad, 2025 "2024", Herpetologica, 80: 321–332, discussed inter-lineage acoustic divergence.
