Distribution
Restricted to the populations in the vicinity of Penedo, Municipality of Ipixuna (the type locality) and Jainu, Municipality of Itamarati, both in the state of Amazonas, Brazil; expected in adjacent Amazonian Peru.

Comment
In the Colostethus trilineatus group according to the original publication. See comment under Allobates. Melo-Sampaio, Oliveira, and Prates, 2018, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 13: 144, provided a corrected morphological diagnosis, restricted the range of the species based on reidentifications of both morphologically and genetically identified specimens, discussed the identities of some of the paratypes of this species noting that some must be reassigned to Allobates trilineatus or Allobates gasconi.
