In the Colostethus trilineatus group according to the original publication. See comment under Allobates. Tsuji-Nishikido, Kaefer, Freitas, Menin, and Lima, 2012, Herpetol. J., 22: 105-114, compared the morphology and calls of this species with Allobates nidicola.
