Ameerega shihuemoy Serrano-Rojas, Whitworth, Villacampa-Ortega, von May, Gutiérrez, Padial, and Chaparro, 2017, Zootaxa, 4221: 73. Holotype: MHNC 15488, by original designation. Type locality: "near Cupudnoe river, 440 m elevation, Peru (Coordinates: 12°47′26.70″ S, 70°58′21.30″ W), Distrito Madre de Dios, Provincia Manu, Departamento Madre de Dios".

Distribution

Southeastern Peru (Provincia Manu, Departamento Madre de Dios) at nine localities in the transition between the montane forest and the lowlands,from 340 to 850 m elevation; 3 localities in the buffer zone of the Manu Biosphere Reserve and another 6 locations in the Amarakaeri Communal Reserve.
