Anomaloglossus confusus Myers and Grant, 2009, Am. Mus. Novit., 3659: 2. Holotype: AMNH A-104819, by original designation. Type locality: "from about 7 air km SSW El Corazón, 800 m elev., Bolívar-Cotopaxi border, northwestern Ecuador . . . . the type locality is roughly 01° 10′ S, 79° 09′ W . . . . The type locality was 11 km by gravel road SSW El Corazon on the way to Moraspungo and Quevedo".

Distribution

Pacific lowlands and western versant of the Cordillera Occidental in northwestern Ecuador (Pichincha, Cotopaxi, and Bolívar provinces), 845 to 1621 m elevation.

Confused with Hyloxalus chocoensis prior to its naming, according to the original publication. Arteaga-Navarro, Bustamante, and Guayasamin, 2013, Amph. Rept.
