Distribution
Known only from Mindoro and Semirara Islands, central Philippines, although likely to be found on islands to the east and southwest of Mindoro.

Comment
The sister taxon of, and previously confused with, Limnonectes acanthi, according to the original publication, where molecular phylogenetics, external morphology, and vocalizations are described.
