Confused with Limnonectes kohchangae until recognized as a distinct species by Ohler, Swan, and Daltry, 2002, Raffles Bull. Zool., 50: 471. Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Stuart, Sok, and Neang, 2006, Raffles Bull. Zool., 54: 138-139, provided a record for Cambodia. Bain, Nguyen, and Doan, 2007, Herpetol.
