Comment
Confused with Limnonectes kohchangae until recognized as a distinct species by Ohler, Swan, and Daltry, 2002, Raffles Bull. Zool., 50: 471. Orlov, Murphy, Ananjeva, Ryabov, and Ho, 2002, Russ. J. Herpetol., 9: 87, stated the species (as Limnonectes kohchangae) to occur in Cambodia and southern Vietnam. Reported for southwestern Cambodia by Ohler, Swan, and Daltry, 2002, Raffles Bull. Zool., 50: 465–481. Nutphund, 2001, Amph. Thailand: 127, provided a brief characterization (as Limnonectes kohchangae) and photograph, which Ohler, 2003, Alytes, 21: 101, noted was of a specimen of Rana glandulosa. Stuart, Sok, and Neang, 2006, Raffles Bull. Zool., 54: 138–139, provided a record for Cambodia. Bain, Nguyen, and Doan, 2007, Herpetol. Rev., 38: 109, provided records from Thua Thien-Hue and Lam Dong Provinces, Vietnam. Neang and Holden, 2008, Field Guide Amph. Cambodia: 95, provided a photograph, brief account of identification, ecology, and range in Cambodia. Tran, Le, Le, Vu, Nguyen, Böhme, and Ziegler, 2010, Herpetol. Notes, 3: 111–119, provided a record from Quang Ngai Province, central Vietnam, and provided a brief morphological diagnosis. See account, photograph, and map for Vietnam in Vassilieva, Galoyan, Poyarkov, and Geissler, 2016, Photograph. Field Guide Amph. Rept. Lowland S. Vietnam: 93–95. Pham, Phan, Do, and Nguyen, 2019, Tap-Chi-Sinh-Hoc, 41 (2se1&2se2): 174–175, reported collection sites in Khanh Hoa and Ninh Thuan provinces, Vietnam, and described the specimens, provided a photograph and ecological notes, and summarized the range in Vietnam by province. Poyarkov, Nguyen, Popov, Geissler, Pawangkhanant, Neang, Suwannapoom, and Orlov, 2021, Russ. J. Herpetol., 28 (3A): 25, suggested that the species would be found in nearby Laos. Brakels, Maury, and Nguyen, 2021, Herpetol. Rev., 52: 792, provided a record from Dakcheung District, Xekong Province, southeastern Laos.
