Distribution

Streams in lowland and lower montane forest on Bohol, Masbate, Cebu, Dinagat, Leyte, Negros, Panay, and Siquijor Islands, Philippines, below 900 m elevation.

In the Limnonectes (Limnonectes) grunniens group of Dubois, 1987 "1986", Alytes, 5: 63, who resurrected this species from a subspecies of Limnonectes macrodon.
