Nanorana huangi Ji, Shi, Ma, Shen, Chang, and Jiang, 2023, Asian Herpetol. Res., 14: 308. Holotype: CIB YN201909255, by original designation. Type locality: "Jinghuadian wetland, Lanping County, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China (26.874593°N, 99.544008°E; 3 389 m a.s.l.)". Zoobank publication registration: D7936D56-CD21-48F5-BA3B-09AD79945132 (28 September 2023).

Distribution

Alpine grass wetland bordering Jinghuadian, Lanping County, Nujiang Prefecture and Dayangchang, Yulong County, Lijiang Prefecture, and Xizhou County, Dali Prefecture of Yunnan Province, at elevations of 2900–3885 m.

Comment

Previously confused with Nanorana ventripunctatus and Nanorana pleskei populations from Weixi, Yunnan, China, with which this species forms the sister taxon of according to the original publication where molecular markers and adult and larval comparative morphology were detailed.
