Nanorana (Nanorana) laojunshanensis Tang, Liu, and Yu, 2023, Animals, 13(3427): 10. Holotype: GXNU YU090314, by original designation. Type locality: "Mt. Laojun, Lijiang, Yunnan, China (26°37’ N, 99°42’ E, 3982 m a.s.l.)." Zoobank publication registration: 20611D82-4452-4DD0-B330-15A239C5F3E0 (date either 6 November 2023 or 21 Dec 2023; some confusion on Zoobank record). Considered to be a junior synonym of Nanorana huangi by Jablonski and Hofmann, 2024, Alytes, 41: 42,  on the basis of priority, in error.

Nanorana huangi Ji, Shi, Ma, Shen, Chang, and Jiang, 2023, Asian Herpetol. Res., 14: 308. Holotype: CIB YN201909255, by original designation. Type locality: "Jinghuadian wetland, Lanping County, Nujiang Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China (26.874593°N, 99.544008°E; 3 389 m a.s.l.)". Zoobank publication registration: D7936D56-CD21-48F5-BA3B-09AD79945132 (28 September 2023 according to Zoobank registration, but not available online as of 29 November 2023 according to Wayback Machine documentation, or 18 December 2024 by personal inspection [DRF] of Asian Herpetological Research).

Common Names

Laojunshan Slow Frog (Nanorana laojunshanensis [no longer recognized]: original designation). 

Yellow–bellied Plateau Frog (Nanorana huangi [no longer recognized]: original publication). 

Distribution

Alpine grass wetlands of Lijiang and Dali Prefectures of Yunnan Province, at elevations of 2900–3982 m.

Comment

Previously confused with Nanorana ventripunctatus and Nanorana pleskei populations from Weixi, Yunnan, China, with which this species forms the sister taxon of according to the original publication where molecular markers and adult and larval comparative morphology were detailed. Jablonski and Hofmann, 2024, Alytes, 41: 40–44, discussed the systematics and synonymy of Nanorana laojunshanensis
