Common Names

Konkan Pond Frog (original publication).

Distribution

Coastal regions of Sindhudurg, Maharashtra, India; currently known from four localities: (1) Thakurwadi Lake, 5 m elevation; (2) Chipi Plateau, 120 m elevation; (3) Dhamapur Plateau, 166 m elevation); and (4) Bambuli Wetland, 7 m elevation. Expected in Baga, Goa, India.

Comment

The sister taxon of Phrynoderma aloysii according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed. See comment under Phrynoderma for discussion of rank controversy regarding the generic name.
