Known only from the type locality near Chunati Wildlife Sanctuary, Chattogram Division, southeastern Bangladesh.

In a monophyletic group containing Occidozya myanassei according to the original publication where 16s mtDNA molecular markers, advertisement call, and external morphology were detailed.
