Known only from the type locality (Bosque Nublado Amaru-Huachocolpa-Chihuana, Huachocolpa District) in the lower Mantaro Basin, Huancavelica Department, Peru, at elevations from 2550 to 2620 m.

Comparative morphology, advertisement call, and natural history detailed in the original publication, where the new species was noted to be in the Gastrotheca marsupiata species group.
