Type locality: "El Mirador, some 57 km from Mocoar, on the road from that town to Sibundoy, [Departamento] Putumayo, Colombia (1° 08′ N, 76° 38′ W. Gr., 2000m of altitude)". Distribution
Amazonian slopes of Andes in southern Colombia (Caquetá, Huila, and Putumayo departments) and Ecuador south to Zamora (department), 1000-2000 m elevation; upper Magdalena Valley, Huila, Colombia, 2000 m elevation.
