Type locality: "más or menos a 50 km de Calilegua a lo largo de la ruta de Valla Grante, Provincia de Jujuy", Argentina.

Distribution
Mid-elevational (1550–2600 m elevation) slopes of Andes (Sierra de Callilegua, Provincia de Jujuy, and Sierra de Porongal, Provincia de Salta) in northern Argentina.
