Gastrotheca dendronastes Duellman, 1983, Copeia, 1983: 868. Holotype: KU 169381, by original designation. Type locality: "Río Calima, 1.5 km (by road) west of Lago Calima, 1,230 m, Departamento Valle del Cauca, Colombia (0° 55′ N, 76° 11′ W)".

Rio Calima Marsupial Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 53).


Pacific slopes of Andes in southern Colombia (Antioquia, Risaralda, Chocó, Valle de Cauca, and Cauca) as well as an isolated population on the eastern slopes of the Central Cordillera in Caldas (Colombia), 1230–2090 m elevation; isolated record in Pichinca Province in northern Ecuador.
