Gastrotheca excubitor Duellman and Fritts, 1972, Occas. Pap. Mus. Nat. Hist. Univ. Kansas, 9: 23. Holotype: KU 139194, by original designation. Type locality: "northern slope of Abra Acanacu, 31 kilometers (by road) north-northeast of Paucartambo, Departamento Cuzco, Perú, 3370 m".
